Description
Reptiles are cold-blooded creatures that rely on external heat sources to maintain their ideal body temperature. In the wild, they soak up direct radiant heat from the sun and conductive heat from warm surfaces like branches, rocks, or other heat - retaining structures. Creating a suitable, species - specific temperature gradient in your terrarium is crucial for successful reptile care. With the Exo Terra Electronic ON/OFF Thermostat, available in 100 W and 300 W models, you can build a well - regulated heating system. This thermostat mimics the temperature conditions of desert or tropical habitats, ensuring your reptiles feel right at home. It also safeguards against overheating in summer and undercooling in winter. The advanced electronic Triac switch maintains the set temperature with remarkable precision, significantly reducing temperature fluctuations in the terrarium. To use, simply connect your Heat Mat, Heat Cable, or Ceramic Heater to the thermostat. Set your preferred temperature and place the heat sensor where you want. The red LED heat indicator lights up when the heater is on and turns off once the desired temperature is reached. The recessed dial on the thermostat prevents accidental temperature changes. The waterproof remote sensor is safe for use in humid terrariums and aquatic setups. This thermostat is adjustable from 20°C to 35°C (68°F – 95°F), and it's perfect for use with Heat Mats and Heat Cables. Key features include accurate temperature control, a waterproof remote sensor with a 6 - foot/185 - cm probe cord, and a red LED indicator. It can control heating devices up to 100 W or 300 W.

Using your Exo Terra Thermostat is easy. First, connect your Heat Mat, Heat Cable, or Ceramic Heater to the thermostat. Then, set your preferred temperature according to the needs of your reptile. You can find the preferred optimum temperature range (POTR) for your specific reptile by doing some research. After setting the temperature, place the waterproof remote sensor in the spot where you want to measure the temperature in the terrarium. The red LED will light up when the heating device is on and turn off when the desired temperature is reached. When handling the thermostat, be careful not to accidentally change the temperature because of the recessed dial. For maintenance, keep the thermostat dry. The waterproof remote sensor can be used in moist environments, but make sure the main unit is protected from water. Regularly check the connection between the thermostat and your heating device to ensure it's secure. If you have any problems, refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer.
