The filter cartridge is placed at the bottom where most fish waste accumulates and is easy to replace during routine maintenance. Ceramic media around the filter cartridge at the bottom will gradually be filled with beneficial bacteria that neutralize ammonia and nitrates from the fish. All biOrb aquariums run on a 12V universal transformer. The quiet air pump is designed for silent operation and stability. There's a convenient feeding hole at the top of the tank.
