Features:
This cork starter set comes with pre - made tunnels and chambers, making it ideal for various ant species, especially those that nest in (dead) wood. The fully transparent ant farm allows you to easily observe your ants. You can insert the “ANTCUBE - Cork Nest” or fill the farm with the provided sand - clay substrate. You can also connect additional modules through the 50mm holes in the cover, like foggers, fans, or lights. There are grid inserts and plugs to close the openings as you wish. You can even operate the formicarium open with the removable frame and ant escape protection oil. The different drinking troughs are for honey/sugar solution and water respectively, and the mini thermo - hygrometer shows the climate values.
Important Tips:
Moisten the substrate before use to ensure it holds firmly in the ant farm. A too - dry and dusty substrate can block ants' respiratory tracts. We suggest a 2mm soil layer so ants use the provided farm instead of burrowing in the arena. The nest should be used in a dry formicarium to avoid molding. When attaching or detaching hoses, use a drop of anti - breakout oil or powder on the socket and twist or screw the hose on/off gently. Our Cricket Jam offers preserved protein food for most ants, but it's not for hunting species that need live food. It's mite - free, portionable, and made from sustainably bred crickets. After opening, it can be kept in the fridge for about four days or frozen for longer storage.

Hey there! Here's how to use your ANTCUBE Starter Set L. First, moisten the sand - clay substrate before putting it in the ant farm. This helps it hold together and keeps the ants healthy. We recommend a 2mm layer of soil so the ants use the provided farm. You can either insert the cork nest into the transparent farm or fill it with the substrate. There are holes in the cover where you can connect extra modules like foggers or fans if you want. Just use the grid inserts and plugs to close the holes when you don't need them. You can operate the formicarium open by putting the removable frame on top and adding ant escape protection oil around the rim. Use the 2ml 360 - degree drinking trough for honey or sugar solution and the 20ml clear sponge one for water. Hang the mini thermo - hygrometer on the frame or cover to keep an eye on the climate. Now, about the Cricket Jam. It's a great way to feed most ants, but not the ones that need live food. After opening, you can keep it in the fridge for about four days or freeze it for longer. Remember to portion it before freezing. When it comes to the hoses, if they're hard to fit, use a drop of the anti - breakout oil or powder on the socket and twist or screw them on gently. Don't just pull them off! Also, keep the nest dry to prevent molding. That's it! Enjoy watching your ants thrive.
