Description
Transform your terrarium or aquarium into a natural paradise with Zoo Med's African Mopani Wood. This stunning African hardwood is a perfect addition to any habitat. It's ideal for your pets to climb on, crawl over, slither through, and hide under. The wood is made from real African hardwood, featuring a sandblasted smooth surface, textured details, and a unique mottled brown color. It sinks right away in aquariums and is resistant to rotting. This wood is collected from dead tree roots, so no trees are harmed during the harvesting process. For terrariums, the wood is sandblasted clean and ready to use. Just make sure to place each heavy piece securely to prevent it from falling and hurting your pet. In aquariums, natural wood products release tannins that can discolor the water and lower pH levels. To reduce this effect, soak the wood in a separate container and change the water daily until the water turns from dark brown to a light 'tea' color or clear. Adding extra carbon to your aquarium can also help remove any remaining discoloration. Remember, each piece of Mopani Wood is unique, varying in size and shape, so choose one that suits your pet and habitat.

Using your Zoo Med African Mopani Wood is easy. For terrariums, simply place the pre - cleaned wood securely in your terrarium. Since it's heavy, make sure it won't fall and hurt your pet. In aquariums, first soak the wood in a separate container. Change the water daily to remove excess tannins. When the water color lightens, your wood is ready for the aquarium. You can also add extra carbon to help with any remaining discoloration. As for maintenance, there's not much to do. Just keep an eye on the wood in your habitat. If you notice any signs of excessive wear or damage, it might be time to replace it. And since each piece is unique, choose one that fits well with your pet's needs and the size of your habitat.
